Serving the community is a central value of our church.
This means that we are involved in running things like:
– The CAP Money Course which provides budget and debt management advice. Or the Marriage Course and the Parenting Course, supporting married couples and parents alike.
– for children who receive hot school meals during term time, we run Thurrock Lunch Club, which offers access to free meals when there is no school.
and being involved with other churches in Thurrock with the Thurrock Foodbank.
As a church we employ a school youth worker who operates in a secondary school in Thurrock, helping young people struggling with anything from their schooling to friendships or bullying. We also have mentoring programmes running in primary and secondary schools across the borough.
We try to identify areas of need within our communities, and wherever we can, start to try to meet that need.
We can’t do everything, but we want to make a positive contribution to the community and support the community in whatever way we can.
Community Church also supports causes outside of the UK through our 10% fund and 180 Worldwide.
