Christmas 2014

December 23rd, 2014 | By Sharon Bartels

We have had a wonderful Christmas so far this year.

It all started off with our men having breakfast followed by some carol singing at the shops in Chadwell St Mary. Our Christmas brass band was there to accompany them.

We then had our Carols on the Green in the heart of Chafford, where we had over 60 people from both church and the community join us for an hour of carol singing.
Even though the rain came our Christmas brass band kept playing and we all kept singing. Kept warm by free tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Then on the 22nd December we had our Christmas Fayre and Community Carol service.
Again the weather wasn’t great for our outside fayre as it was cold and windy but it stayed dry.
Everyone enjoyed the many craft stalls, face painting, glitter tattoos, pick and mix sweets, popcorn, Space hopper derby, Sheep waling, pony rides and small animals. And not forgettingĀ the lovely hot drinks to keep us warm in the wind.

From there we moved inside for our Community Carol service where we enjoyed all our favourite carols, the A-Z of Christmas performed by our Kid’s Church and an adult nativity.

We aren’t finished yet!

Why not join us on Christmas Eve for our Carols by Candlelight, 6pm at Harris Academy, Chafford Hundred. On Christmas Day for our family service, 10.30amĀ at Harris Academy, Chafford Hundred.
For our family service on the 28th December and then our last meeting of the year on 31st December – our Crossover 2014-2015 Watch Night service 10.30pm at The Salvation Army hall, Clarence Road, Grays.

We would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a blessed New Year
